I have the amazing job of getting to read through every single Unrelated Caption before it gets published.

While doing this job (if you can really call it that), I’ve run into a few Unrelated Captions that I have found wildly funny, but could not publish. They were a little too over the top. And the thing is, sometimes over the top is hilarious.

Inspired by this, I went ahead and set up RAGEcaptions. [NSFW]

If you feel that pictures of angry things with captions is funny, then check it out. Rage can be funny. You should go ahead and rage as hard as you want on the comments too. If it becomes a playground for flame wars, all the better. It’s all in good fun, and sometimes you just need to flame somebody.

One of my goals is making funny and absurd websites go from imagination to reality- so far I’ve made stuff like Unrelated Captions (duh), mylifeisaverage, LOLplants, averagecats, and now RAGEcaptions, and have had a ton of fun with it.

On the Unrelated Captions facebook fan page, I recently asked if anyone had any ideas for ridiculous and hilarious websites. There were a ton of really excellent responses, so I wanted to extend that question to everyone reading Unrelated Captions. Your humor and inventiveness has made all of this UC stuff possible in the first place, so I want to give you a chance for your ideas to be heard.

So take a shot: any ideas for a hilarious, ridiculous websites? It will be fun to see what people have to say.

Previous ideas have included:

• Funny things old people do/buy/wear.
• All the different ways to eat peanut butter. A pictureblog.
• Pictures of people with mustaches drawn on them.
• Related/Obvious Captions

Unrelated Captions is pretty excited to be announcing a few cool features coming soon. They’re not quite done yet, but…. one of them will be permanent usernames. With these you’ll be able to mark and keep track of your favorite unrelated captions, as well as a few other things.

So before the whole username situation gets underway, I know that some people are fairly attached to specific usernames. If you want to reserve a username, send a one paragraph explanation why to usernames@unrelatedcaptions.com, and it will be waiting for you the moment we open up usernames to everyone else.
